Buwa Binitie in the news
Binitie runs DP Management LLC, better known as Faria Management, which says it oversees more than 1,000 DC apartments. Its buildings include Benning Park, Cascade Park, Delta Pearl, Delta Towers, Urban Village and Capitol Vista.
DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb has sued Binitie and his company over what the suit calls "extreme and pervasive disrepair" at Delta Pearl on Florida Avenue NE. In late September 2026 a judge ordered repairs to elevators, stairwells, security, rodent problems and air conditioning while the case goes on. Binitie says he was improperly named in the suit, and has blamed problems at his buildings on tenants not paying rent.
Tenants from about ten Faria buildings formed a coalition in 2026. Tenants at The Residences at Georgia Avenue and Delta Towers have sued, saying management interfered with their right to organize. New America data cited in the report puts Faria among DC's ten biggest eviction filers from June 2025 to February 2026, with 150 cases.

Other people and organizations DC business records list as owners of the same companies. Open violations count every company each one is connected to, not just the ones shared here.
DOB names a company as the owner on each citation. We matched those names to DC's beneficial owner records and followed any companies listed as owners up to the people and organizations at the top. Names that agree apart from punctuation and abbreviations were matched automatically; the rest were checked by hand. The records are a current snapshot, so a company sold since a citation shows its current owners. Fines shown are assessed amounts on open violations; DC does not publish collected amounts. Under DC law, a company's beneficial owners are anyone holding more than 10% of it, directly or through other companies, and anyone with a smaller stake, or none, who controls its financial or operational decisions or directs its day-to-day operations (D.C. Code § 29-102.01). Companies report this themselves and DC doesn't verify it, so a listing can be out of date or incomplete. If something here is wrong, tell us.
